Manufacturing practicals from different engineering work-trades like Welding, Fitting, Smithy, Carpentry, Fitting, Foundry, Machining etc are conducted in this department for the students of various disciplines. All the students of F.E.& S.E.(Mech.) irrespective of their disciplines and the students from Mechanical, from S.E. onwards perform the practicals in this department. During this work they are exposed to different raw materials, tools, machinery, operations, measuring instrument etc. The journey of their work begins from mannual working and extends upto CNC machining. To carry out this work the department is well equipped with machines like lathe, milling, drilling, grinding, shaping, welding, MIG, TIG, CNC, lathe machine etc.

Besides the academic work students work with great interest in the workshop department for preparing the working models, supporting devices for different technical & cultural events, project work etc. Apart from the technical inputs, emphasis is also given on cultivating safety aspect, quality consciousness among the students. The department is headed by Prof. T.G. Katratwar, post graduate in Mech. ( Production ) Engineering and having industrial & academical experience of 7 years. He is well supported by trained & qualified technical instructors, laboratory attendants, store keeper & peons.
