Established in 2008, the department of Mechanical engineering remains among the premier departments of Y.T.C.E.M. It offers course at the graduate level. The department has kept pace with the various laboratories. The laboratories in the department are recognized in a number of areas as testing facilities. The department also has workshops for training in smithy, carpentry, welding and machine tools.

Mechanical engineering is a core branch of engineering. Mechanical engineer can make a carrier in every field of industry such as mechanical, automobile, chemical, electrical, information Technology, design, etc. Department has all laboratories and workshop well equipped as per structure & syllabus and have well qualified, devoted & dedicated team of teaching staff.

Laboratories include Strength of Materials, Material Technology, Thermal engineering, Thermodynamics, KOM, Machine shop, Computer Graphics and Drawing Hall.

The department aims to provide excellent teaching /learning environment to the students. The department imparts training to the students on various industry specific software’s such as Auto CAD Inventor making them adaptive technical challenges.
